It doesn't happen often, but enough to be minorly annoying. It usually happens when an app that demands a high amount of memory fails. The app forces closed, then the Home screen stays in Landscape mode when the keyboard is hidden. I can open and close the phone to force a reset, but any new application will immediately go into Landscape mode. The only solution I have found to cure this power cycling.
This issue is not unique to my CLIQ, but happened on my G1 in every revision of Android OS up to 1.6. If it's not an OS problem, it would be awesome if I could just get some sort of reset widget, that would reset the default mode.
