Sprint rumored to provide unlimited data plans for iPhone 5?

It looks like Sprint may continue to offer unlimited data plans to users who buy an iPhone 5 when it's (supposedly) released next month. Considering that both AT&T and Verizon have done away with their unlimited plans (unless one has been grandfathered in), is this enough to make you switch to Sprint?

Do you think Sprint will eventually be forced to go the way other carriers have done and ultimately get rid of unlimited data?

I think it's the only saving grace Sprint has right now. Between their pricing, phone selection and data it's the only way they're staying competitive. Despite all that I don't see them getting a big surge in new subscribers because everyone who was waiting for better service went to the Verizon already.

not enough for me until they drop the price. Unlimited talk, text and data from virgin mobile for 35 a month is too good to not have.

If Sprint gets the iPhone 5 (seems like they and everyone else will) and maintain their unlimited/no throttling stance, I'll definitely switch over. I stayed with Verizon because they got the iPhone right when I needed to switch carriers (was with Helio, now Virgin Mobile).

$79.99 seems like a fair price to pay for truly unlimited usage.

In the areas I frequent Sprint is not so good and I'm not the biggest fan, but this might be a big deal to some people. I think most normal (non-tech addicted) people will never hit the data caps and don’t care. Most will finally just be able to go with the carrier they already have, that works best in their area, or work provides. I think those are the biggest issues for people. I’ll be seeing a lot more iPhone here at work if Sprint gets it. I might actually prefer it to Android phones from an IT standpoint.

I hope that Sprint keeps unlimited data, and I don't think any carrier has been 'forced' to do away with it. Sure they may claim that they dropped unlimited data to help with the congestion on their networks, but then at the same time they claim that dropping unlimited data did not affect 98% of their customers.... How does that add up?

I think Sprint realizes their pricing and them being the only holdout with unlimited data are some of their biggest selling points and will maintain those selling points as long as they are economically able to.

I don’t think Sprint is in a position where they can get rid of unlimited data and especially if the AT&T T-Mobile merger goes through they will need to keep it to continue to set them apart as viable alternative to the big 2.

I’m curious will this be a 4G device or a 3G device. if it was 4G I would consider switching to Sprint as they have much better coverage where I live than Verizon or AT&T do 4G wise. 3G that’s about everywhere for every one that lives in a large city on all 4 carriers. Please note I am not saying its great coverage or speeds but they are there.

The reason Sprint is able to offer this is because they don't have the iPhone. I am 100% sure that once they feel the load of all of the iPhones activating on their network they will quickly change their plans.

Thus far it has been what has kept me from leaving Sprint. Whether or not it will attract new customers or just make current Sprint customers upgrade to the iPhone is to be seen.
