Question about
jslick

Sometimes when I take my computer out of standby, the screen becomes unreadable. Does anyone know why this is?

Occasionally, when I take my computer out of standby, the screen becomes all fuzzy and pixelated. I'm not sure if that provides an accurate description but I'm not sure how else to describe it. When this happens, it is basically impossible to navigate the screen. I haven't seen any pattern that could identify the source of this problem. It seems pretty random. Can anyone help me?

I have a custom build; nothing crazy:

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X2 555
MSI 870A-G54
ATI Radeon HD 5450
WD 1 TB Caviar Black
4GB of RAM
The monitor is an LG L226

Sounds like a video card issue. Have you checked to see about updated drivers?

I just checked. There is an updated driver. I'll download it later though. I got way too many things running on my computer right now and I'm not willing to close them.

Tips for giving the best answers

Sometimes it's just little details that separates a great and not so great answer! Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:

1
Be complete and thorough. Don't skimp on the details!
2
Try not to answer with a question. Because that's not really an answer, right?
3
A little research goes a long way. Back up your claims and assumptions!
4
Try to be patient, tech questions can be complicated.
