I understand there is a 5.0 software update for the Tour. Anyone know if it's available, and how to load it onto the phone.
Thx for the help.

The easiest thing to do is to plug your phone into your computer and run the desktop manager software. If there is an update available you will be prompted to install it. To ensure a smoothe upgrade make sure you have the most recent version of the desktop software, which is available for free from the official site.
A couple of things to be aware of. First, if you upgrade to 5.0 you may have to reinstall some applications, such as facebook, aim, gchat and, curiously, blackberry app world and messenger. Second, if you are on Verizon the update is not available yet (I don't know about regional or non-US carriers -sorry).
If you do have Verizon (or some other carrier) you can update manually and it should work, but that involves some tinkering. If you want to try that head over to crackberry.com and check out the article "Official OS 5.0.0.484 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 Now Available for Download from Sprint." There is a link to the download there as well as a walkthrough of how to update the phone manually. Be aware, of course, that installing an unofficial OS can have repercussions, including bricking the phone in extreme cases.

The update is totally worth it though. Don't let it stop you if you're on Verizon and it's still not official. Grab the Sprint release like 5Nov said. You won't be disappointed.
