Question about

So I imagine this gets 13.75 hours of battery with the slice battery which sticks out the bottom. Anyone have any experience with this kind of battery?

Does it make the laptop unwieldy?

I think the slice battery for this machine is actually pretty streamlined compared to your typical Dell or Asus extended battery. I don't know what they used to rate the battery life but it might be pretty decent on the regular 6-cell now that it has switchable graphics.

4 - 6 hours!! LOL! I could get 4 to 6 hours if I kept my screen at the lowest brightness, no volume and wasn't running at 1600X900. If I am on Wifi, using software (CS5 usually) and running my business out of Google Docs then I count on 3 hours MAX, I can get 4 if I am really careful.

there have been some calculations from the people over on the Notebook Review forums. they seem to believe that with the specs expected with the stock model (i5, 5650, etc.) we can probably expect about 4-6 hours on the internal battery, 9-11 with the slice. these are jusy based off comparisons with similarly specced notebooks from other companies, so take it with a (large) grain of salt.

To be honest, I get about 6 to 7 hours with my slice battery. I haven't used it as often as a "worn" in battery so it could be just the break in point, but so far, that's about it. I get about 4 hours on my regular battery that is worn in.
