Shutter count

Is there any way to get the shutter count/actuation information from the camera?

I know of a way but that would involve exporting the image out and extracting the info from the EXIF data.

That just seem like a large amount of work...

Any suggestion is great;y appreciated. :-)

Not sure about the D90 but other Nikon cams use the filename numbering that will give you an idea as to how many pics the camera has taken. This number can be reset but most likely it has not. IMG3845.JPG means the camera has taken at least 3845 pics.

Shutter count is contained in the exif data... shoot a jpg and upload it to flicker or use a program that can view the exif data of a photo
