Should I leave my Nokia N9 for Nokia Lumia 800?

I love my Nokia N9 .. it's amazing device with very good OS .. but I also love Windows Phone, and when I saw Lumia 800 I thought about replacing it. Some friends told me not to do so, because it would be considered a downgrade .. so I'm confused .. what you guys think?

Is the N9 not working or giving you all the features and functionalities you need in a phone?

Personally i would hold on to the N9 if its working fine. CES is coming up Win 8 is due out this year so i am sure we will see more from Microsoft about that and phones I'm sure well se a release brining the phone to "Win 8" like to OS at the least for marketing reasons.

if you were looking to go iPhone or a Android that would be a different argument but since you are looking at the Lumia i think the N9 is still a good phone.

Lumia 800 is better. Why? more apps, more support from Nokia & Microsoft.

The N9 is sexy but meego is a dead OS.

This won't answer your question but I ends up keeping both phones. I use N9 because the unify messaging system (skype, gtalk, sms) beats everything out there. My line of work requires me to be reachable on these IMs and N9 allows me to be able to do that (very reliable and close to the service I have with Blackberry messenger). Also, the Swipe is definitely addictive.

The lack of some of the major apps that makes N9 can't be my primary phone. I need app such as Evernote (the one that is available for Meego is not practical to use when you have thousand of notes), Whatsapp, etc.
This is where Lumia 800 shines. The availability of the apps are quite acceptable in Windows Phone (despite a lot of people complains comparing with Android and iOS). The missing Skype and unify messaging system is my major hurdle with Lumia. There are 3rd party app such as IM+ but it just doesn't cut it. The access to the message is not instant (it behaves exactly like iOS where the message comes in the background and you have to open the app and wait one minute for the app to connect before you can start responding to the message).

Anyway, I am keeping both phones for now until one of these happens: Skype is deeply integrated into the Windows Phone core message OR Whatsapp finally releases its Meego app. It is a pleasure to use both phones.

At this point no. Its best to wait for Windows Phone 8 when it comes out since upgradability is still questionable.
