Should I buy the new MB Air now or wait for the Retina MB Air?
How long do you think it will take Apple to release the retina display Macbook Air, hopefully with a new external design?

I don't think there will be a 13" Retina in the same form factor as the current Air. The need for discrete graphics and larger battery will require a form factor similar to the 15" Macbook Pro Retina but in a 13" size. Retina will be the new Macbook Pro 13" form factor, but not the Air. I think Apple will keep the Air line as its cheaper ultra portable, but Retina will be the new Pro feature.
Unless you truly want Retina and are able to pay the extra cost, I think the current 13" Macbook air is the laptop to buy. I would be more tempted if there was a 13" Retina option, and rumors are that there may be one as early as Fall.

if you do pick it up now you are getting a better process, USB3, and more memory depending on the model you get so you are not getting a bad device.
if the Retina is something you feel you need i would say wait for it. if its not and you need to replace your current machine or just want it then get it now.
also we don't know if and or when Retina will be added to airs. i don't think we will see it this year. maybe next year but who knows for sure.

if you need it now get it! but if you just want it now, wait. like so many others we never know when apple will change to a retina MB air

Get the Retina MacBook Pro if you want a retina display. It's almost as thin as the MacBook Air already.
