Right after syncing I look up an artist to play and it says "updating library this may take several minutes" and it does! Severe lag and sometimes no response when pressing 'Home' button to wake up the Touch.
Anyone else having this problem?
I've heard flash memory can go bad over time. It gets used 10hrs. a day 6 day days a week. Is this my problem? Its not jailbroken nor has it gotten wet or dropped.

I don't use mine that much but I do use it several hours a day and I have had it for over a year now. Have you tried a restore on it?

I have one that has had that problem of becoming sluggish. I use mine to play the tunes at the the bar where I sling drinks, so it gets used 8 hours a day, four days a week. The more data the more likely to get sluggish and even freeze but a restore brings it back to normal for me about every 6 months. It takes a couple of hours to re-sync the songs but not a big deal since i just "set it and forget it". Ha! If you have maxed the space on the drive this may be contributing to the problem. I recommend leaving about 20% free space on the device. Good luck.
