Screen

Hey guys,

I have a MacBook Pro 17-inch (non-unibody) and I've been having this issue. Whenever I use the computer, the screen starts flickering and changing colors. So black is flickering a purple color, white flickering blue... etc.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks!

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Probably a cable problem or possibly a video card issue. Did you get it checked out at the Apple store?

This happened on my PC.. Now I don't know if this will apply to your mac, but i had to reinstall my drivers... Which unfortunately for mac owners usually means reinstalling(am i correct?). Another thing you could try FIRST; would be connecting it to an external display, thus switching your graphics card to the new display... then switching back forcing the card to reestablish a stable connection with you main display. I hope that helps. :)
As protocol goes for any problem; it would be best to narrow down the exact problem first(in your case try different displays, use different apps, try as much as you can to narrow it down), then work from the most basic solution to the hardest.. and don't hesitate to retry what you have already done. I have seen countless examples of people who do not check the most basic solutions because they "already tried" that. Happy fixings. . .
