once you replace the screen you really need to invest in an invisible shield for it. i wouldn't have a gadget without one! www.invisibleshield.com

I used the scratched screen as an excuse to get a whole new custom painted housing.

Agreed on the invisible shield. Also, I've really liked by case-mate skin. My curve is almost 2 years old and still looks like new.

After you replace the screen, try bestskinsever.com for a protective skin. They are less expensive than the invisible shield ones and have the same quality. I've had one of them on my phone for 6 months now and not a scratch.

I cracked the hell out of it, to the point of it falling in pieces off the faceplate.

I had a dead bb curve and I just took the face plate off that. Buying a replacement screen gets tricky with the adhesive. It's just a lot easier to get the faceplate with the screen on it.

and be careful, doing anything will void your warranty. If you take it apart, there is a little white sticker over one of the screws, take it off carefully and put it back when you're done. Solved!

If it's a small scratch, try a little bit of vaseline. It worked on my 32 inch hdtv, so it should work on a phone screen.

Rub the inside peel of a banana skin on the screen, then use the cd polishing kits.
or get a new faceplate with the screen intact.

IMO the screens on these scratch way too easy.

I've had an iphone for three years (with no screen protection whatsoever) and an 8330 for about six months. I'm careful with both and don't allow them to float around my bag's unprotected.

I do, though, carry the 8330 in my bike jersey pocket with my drivers license, insurance card, and a few dollars. After just a few weeks (perhaps 300 miles) of carrying it around like this the screen is scratched to hell and in parts appears to have rubbed through a layer (weird description I know, but that's the best I can articulate).

The iphone, for comparison, was carried around in the exact same manner for well over a year (perhaps 2,000+ miles) and it doesn't have a single scratch on it...

This is awesome, I'm going to order a new screen right now - I had no idea these were so cheap (and easy) to replace.

the other thing to try is to get the privacy screen protector i got it when i got my curve back in 09 and the screen is in pristine condition but so is my phone because i use a skin case and a BB holster (bought separately)
