Says "Call ended" whenever I try to check voicemail

Whenever I press and hold the "1" button to check my voicemail, it starts to dial and then just says "call ended". So no voicemail for me. I've got the HTC Magic that was given out at Google I/O and am using it with Rogers in Canada. Any ideas? Anything I could have setup incorrectly on the phone with respect to voicemail?

Do you have your voicemail number programmed into it from the telecom you use. It might just be that since it is from the Google I/O conference the number might be set to the Tmobile USA voicemail.

Yeah it's possible that the voicemail number is wrong. Do you know where I set that?

Should be under settings>Call Settings>Voicemail, that will give you where the phone is sending your voicemails.

Yeah, and make sure the voicemail number is not set to your own number. Sometimes people accidentally change that or delete the number altogether.

Thanks - it took me a while but I got the proper voicemail number and now it works. Previously she did have her own number in there. Thanks everybody!
