Samsung Infuse or Wait for the Galaxy S II

I am on AT&T and I am waiting for a new Android phone.
1. Is the Galaxy S II coming to AT&T?
2. If the Galaxy S II is coming to AT&T when & is it worth the wait?
3. Can the Infuse be rooted and have GingerBread installed on it without TouchWiz.

1. Signs point to yes. Those signs being a compatible radio for AT&T bands.
2. Yes, it is. The phone is future proof with it 4.3 inch SAMOLED display, 1.2ghz Dual Core CPU, 1GB ram, 8MP camera with 1080p recording etc. It's a very high end and high class phone.
3. I'm not aware if it can be rooted at the moment but if it isn't, it will be and if it can get CM7 (CyanogenMod 7) running on it, then yes, it would be able to have pure Gingerbread without the TouchWiz UI.

Just to add, it depends on how long you want to wait. The Samsung Attain (AT&T's variant of the S2) is probably not going to be release till Q3. If you can wait, definitely wait. If you can't wait, the Infuse is not such a bad phone either. There's always a better gadget coming.

Definitely wait for it! It will be the best phone by far. It will also be nice to change carriers but that's another topic. Wait for it.

Wait for the Galaxy S 2, because it is pointless to get the Infuse when the S2 is available or will be available. The Infuse most likely will be rooted and have Gingerbread roms available for it, but if you want the latest version of android, wait for the latest phone, within reason. What you could also do is get one from Negri Electronics, eXpansys, or Clove Technology. Wait a few weeks and the price should go down. You'll have the original, without it being bastardized by At&t.

Wait for the Galaxy S II. better specs all around, we all know that att is going to bastardize them both. Why not get the better quality device.

From what I can tell it will be available on AT&T, and I'm sure it will be a great phone on AT&T. Typically if you are ready to get a phone now you should get one, if you end up waiting there will be always something looming. That being said I'm assuming the GS2 won't be too far down the road, but there are no confirmed release dates, so who knows just how soon it will be available.

Thanks for the input, I am going to try and wait. I have an old iPhone 3Gs and I want an Android phone next. Hopefully they will announce a date soon because if the Galaxy S II is not coming out until the end of the year, I am just going to get the Infuse. This is hands down the best place to ask a tech question.

Wait for the Galaxy S2, it will be out eventually. The hold up is probably due to the legal issues with Apple and licensing fees with Microsoft. If you can't wait it is available from Amazon unlocked but it's very expensive.
