Anyone know if the purchased games from their store is transferable to another console or to the new Wii U?

According to an article from Wired last year, Nintendo does not allow for the transfer of downloaded games between consoles:

The transfer from DSi(XL) to 3DS required both consoles to migrate your game collection. I'd say it's safe to assume a similar system will be put in place for the Wii U.
Despite the feasibility of them tying your purchases to a Club Nintendo account versus the console, this isn't something they do. So if you've sold your Wii, already, you may be SOL.
They've been known to improve their practices regularly, however, so not all hope is lost.

I think it's possible if you jailbreak it somehow. But I don't have much info on that.
