Question about
programmable on the mac?
So i got this mouse a little while ago and I love it as a bluetooth mouse for my macbook pro. The spec sheet here says that is programmable, but for the life of me I can't figure out what that really means. The buttons do the standard things, but there isn't too much configuration I could do, nor can i make the side button do much at all. (I didn't get any driver disk with it, nor could I find a mac os specific install on the MS site, which I guess I'm not surprised about really)..
Works great for me really, but i sort of wish I could make the site button toggle the scroll wheel into horizontal scrolling mode or something...

I thought I had configured a logitech mouse to use its buttons for something other than back, but couldn't remember off the top of my head.
Over at mac-forums.com there is a posting that explained it as follows:
System preferences -> exposé and spaces -> under "dashboard", the second drop-down list will have "Mouse button 4"
I'm at work, so I cannot verify, but that sounds about right.

Back to the drawing board.. I got the intellimouse software, and it seems to not really recognize the side button I have on this... Anybody have a good 3rd party mouse button programming app for mac that would be useful?

Cool .. I got it working, only wierdness was that I couldn't get the built in macro for Expose working.. But the work around for that is to assign expose to an "F" key and then make your mouse button do that "F" key, and voila... (have to assign it first on the mouse, and then set up the shortcut in mac settings after, such that it doesn't actually try and do the expose when you're setting it up in intellipoint though)
