Playing my PS3 through my laptop?

Hey guys, so I recently had to sell my 23" gaming monitor that I used with my PS3 to afford a new computer. I can no longer play the PS3 (without having it in the living room across the house), so I'm looking for an alternative. I have heard of many people playing their game consoles through their computer/laptop displays, and I want to know how to do it. I know some PCs have HDMI INPUTS, and that would work, but they're quite rare and I don't have that luxury. I have heard things like Dazzle capture cards would work, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas gdgt community?

Any capture solution within your budget (if you can't afford another 20"-class monitor at the moment) will introduce lag, as well as probably loss of quality.

Making it kind of useless.

Save for a monitor / TV.

You can get a 25" HD tv for less than $200 now. Some 20" HD tvs cost only $100.

Sony has the PS3 Branded 3D tv as well, but that's $500...
