Here is the device I use. It is a combination of HDMI output and Camera connection kit for the iPad: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GXJKZM/ref=as_li_ss_...
It works with HDMI to DVI converter to connect to an LCD monitor as well as an HDMI cable to a projector. The only draw back of this device is it does not allow for charging when using the device. Its only benefit over the apple device is that it also allows you to hook up a camera through USB, or a card reader, or USB audio devices, or keyboards through the USB interface.
There is also a separate adapter to go from the iPad dock to VGA output.
