Question about
Pitting on palm rest
I have started to get some corrosion-like pitting on the palm rest of my MBP. It is tiny pits in the aluminum that are black on the inside. This drives me nuts since it destroys the clean look of the laptop. Is there a way to fix this? Do you think apple would put on a new top plate if I went to the Apple Store? I have AppleCare so my warranty is still good for another 2 years.
If you asked for a new top plate they would probably have it sent to a repair center which means you would have to go without it for a while. For future latptops you can put on a plastic coating, similar to screen protectors for iPhones, to protect it.
