Phone becomes unlocked in pocket

Does this happen to anyone else? Sometimes when I take my phone out of my pocket the screen is set to a random menu, such as my favorites menu or a contact. The only thing I can think of is somehow the "lock" icon is getting pressed in my pocket and random buttons are pressed before the screen locks again. I keep the screen facing toward my leg when it is in my pocket to protect it from blunt objects, so it is hard to imagine this is happening. My jean pockets are fairly loose so the phone isn't being pressed into my leg.
Is there any way to get around this issue, other than keeping it on a belt clip?

There's no way around the issue (other than the belt clip) as far as I know. The phone will be activated in your pocket if any button gets pressed: send, end, clear, lock/unlock, speakerphone, the volume rocker, or camera. At that point, all it takes to completely unlock it is for the lock/unlock button (or the "Touch to Unlock" spot) to be pressed.

I hate when my phone pocketcalls people because it unlocks itself on its own. The iPhone's "Slide to Unlock" makes much more sense for instances like this. Too bad the Dare doesn't do that.
