Question about
Palm Pre shutting down on it's own
My Palm Pre is shutting down on it's own. I have pulled my Pre from it's protective cover only to find it's off, NOT DEAD.
It also shuts down while in use, sometimes it fails after opening the keyboard other time after closing it.

Is anyone else having similar issues?

I haven't had any problems with mine so take it back and get another one.

if you got the pre around release day, i heard that the battery shipped with that batch was a little small and jars loose causing it to shut down...i think if you go into sprint you can get another battery. hope this helps...good luck!

I have place a piece of paper by the battery as suggested. It seems to fix my issue and if it keeps working I will just keep it. If it stops working again, I'll have to change it.
Thanks for the feedback and advise!

My Pre did this on a regular basis. Any minor shake of the phone -- even opening or closing the slider -- would make it shut down. Like the above poster said, I squeezed a tiny fold of paper above the top end of the battery to give it a snug fit, and I haven't had a random shutdown since.

Definitely take it back, don't stick paper in your phone. I was within the 30 day window and had the exact same issue. I took it back in and they were very cool about switching it for a new device.

Sigh, mine starting shutting off when closing the slide today, twice so far. The crazy thing is I cannot make it repeat it when I want it too!
I even took the battery cover off and attempted to wiggle the battery to see if it was loose, but it seems to be stuck in place just fine.
