OTA Update Available 1-11-10

I'm guessing not everyone will get it today, but this morning I received an OTA update on my Eris. Went smooth except while loading after the reboot, the HTC screen kinda hung up for a good 2+ minutes. It came up eventually, was just weird.

Here's the Verizon PDF link to the update: support.vzw.com/pdf/DROID_ERIS_Update.pdf

The ROM updates to version 1.17.605.1 and the Radio to 2.32.40.11.09

It's basically a quick fix update for a problem I've never seen or noticed:

Rare instances where the display locked or
appeared to be in an out-of-service state when
attempting to wake up the DROID ERIS from
screen saver mode no longer occurs.

Yeah, they didn't announce this update, I had to go to Verizon's website under support and found the pdf on it. I didn't see anything on HTC's website. Hope it helps man, buggy phones are no fun.

My phone locked up twice like that in the two weeks that I've had it - once at a very inopportune time. My phone received the update this morning.

The only thing I noticed that was a bit weird that other might want to know is that after you download the update and the phone restarts, it stays for a while on the animated "htc" opening screen. It took a couple of minutes or so before it went on to start, and there was no sort of progress bar or anything. That's just something that you might want to know...

It happened to me twice when I was traveling across a major city, but when I went back to college and stayed in "one place" it hasn't come back up. Go figure...
