Nvidia ION LE or ION?
Seems like on the front page of HP's site for the Mini 311, it still says that the chip is ION LE and from what I have read the LE is a lite verson of the regular ION chip (no Direct X 10 support which I would rather have).
Anyone know when they will make the change or is it already in place?
Any help?
Thanks.
I find it a little silly that they are offering 3GB as the max for RAM, but I assume it is because currently they are only offering 32bit XP/Windows 7. It's actually cheaper to go that route versus sticking with 1GB, then getting a 4GB because looking online I am finding 4GB DDR3 SODIMMs going for about 200 (!!!) or more.
I am personally very much on the fence about buying this. I am hoping that it will eventually get a dual core Atom, but that might be asking too much. If it did, this would be the perfect netbook. It's either this or the Studio 14z (yes I know, it's kind of unfair to compare a notebook vs netbook, but it's the next best thing in my opinion).

The ION LE's only difference is that Direct X 10 support is disabled on chip.

As for 3GB DDR3 ram I certainly think this is something that is crossing into the notebook department but I think is awsome for a netbook.

As indicated by Engadget via Lilputing : www.engadget.com/2009/10/12/hp-mini-311-set-for-sp...
Granted, I don't see Windows 7 Professional being an option, nor the SSD...

If you install Windows 7 + the ION drivers on the ION LE version, it will unlock the full power of the chip.
