I was just about to respond to you in the other thread about this. I see you researched and learned the bad news. Sony is really not winning any points here.

I bet they do a mail in something or other. Mail in your game UMD's and get digital code DM'd to your PSN account. *crosses fingers*

This is disappointing. I somewhat expected it but I still had hope they would have figured out a way to make this work.

It seems pretty obvious now that the PSP Go is better suited for new PSP owners and the rest of us should stick with what we already have. We can download new games if we want but our old games are still playable.

it sounds like they were thinking of having kiosks set up to do this.... that seems like a lot of hassle and overhead when all you need is the serial number from the game.... stupid sony...

I find this hard to believe. I had been considering updating my 1st gen PSP, but this is a deal-breaker for me. I think a lot of PSP owners will feel this way and it will really impact sales of the PSP Go. I think Sony will feel the pressure and have to relent and introduce a way for old PSP owners to play UMD games on the new device.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot Sony. They used to be my favourite brand, but lately I dunno. Ever since that rootkit fiasco, it just kinda seems like they've lost their way a bit. They need a better management team or a more visionary leader to steer them right.
