Question about
Need to use K750i as GPRS modem on iBook G4 on USB cable... HELP!!!
Recently my brother started using my old iBook G4. It's running OS X Tiger (latest update installed, I think 10.4.8 or 10.4.9) and it doesn't have Bluetooth in-built.
Now my brother wants to use his K750i as GPRS modem over USB cable, but when plugged in it only shows Memory Card mounted, but no network interface in Network preferences panel. I've used K750i as bluetooth modem on OS X, but never on cable. So any idea what should be done? Do I need any driver or third party software?

There's no USB modem driver for OS X - so you're SOL. Buy a supported Bluetooth adapter and you should be able to connect that way.

AOD said it - that's the correct answer. The D-Link DBT-120 is a good choice (compatible, no need to install drivers):
www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DBT-120
Be aware that D-Link has upgraded the DBT-120 several times over the years but re-used the same model number, so older ones had Bluetooth 1.x. You can find other similar devices from other makers that are smaller, but they may require drivers to work on a Mac.

Thank you very much ArmpitOfDeath and jogdial, for your replies.
After a lot of searching I had also come down to the same conclusion, the only way to go is bluetooth way.
