my video is buggy

I came home after a week away and my video would halt and give me colored lines after Windows vista 64-bit boots. It worked fine before. I was wondering if any other users have had hardware failure of the 4850 card? I'm going through tech support but they are trying to attribute it to software and none of there solutions are working. This was inexpensive for the technology (core i7) at the time and I'm hoping that they didn't just shove some shoddy video card in it to save overhead costs. If you are suffering or have suffered similar failures with yours, did you have it resolved by tech support or not? If you solved it, how did you?
