The Kinect uses a proprietary connector that is based off of USB. On a old xbox360 a usb extention cable may work (since you have to use an adapter to connect it to the 360), but on the new slim model, you would need a purpose made cable for it. Ive seen them on Amazon for about $40 for a 10 foot extension.

My instant suggestions is a small mounting shelf, with a USB extension cable routed back along the same path as your TV cables. Not exactly plug in and go solution.. so given the unproven nature of Kinect I would probably want to do some playing with it first to see if it was something I was happy modifying the wall for.

I just got the Kinect wednesday at midnight. The cable is about 8 or 10 feet long. not sure how far your xbox is from the TV but at the least you could just plug the Kinect in when you want to use it and just string the cable across the floor. But if you COULD get into that wall, it would be easy to just throw an extension on the cable and go as far as USB will go without interference.

Another option would be a way to transfer USB wirelessly. I know there are devises out there where you plug something usb in a transceiver and then plug the receiver in to your device. no cables anymore.
