My phone has been bugging out for a while...the OS is really slow

I've stopped using my G900 since the time I tried to update the OS, then I started having problems. The OS became really slow to the point that it was impairing the functionality of the phone. Also after a while the screen goes blank and no matter how many buttons I push it won't turn on again. Since I bought my phone in Hong Kong I can only get it fixed there and it's still under the one year warranty, so I haven't bothered to do anything to it here in the States. I tried to update the OS again, hoping that would solve problems but to no avail. I've also looked up Sony Ericsson's support website but I couldn't find anything so I gave up a long time ago. Anyone with the same problem?

If you bought it in Hong Kong, it probably has Chinese support. Right?

If you don't really need it, you should try changing the CDA of the phone, which effectively changes the region. Once you do that and go and upgrade, you'll get international firmware. No chinese support, but it's lighter as a result.

And about the warranty. I doubt it's an international warranty, so it's not going to be of much use in the US. If you're planning to go back sometime soon, you could wait, otherwise forget about it.

Anyway, if you're up to doing the CDA changing thing, here's a guide:
