Question about
My media applications keep crashing! How do I fix it?
Hi, I just got the update from Sony Ericsson and updated my Sony Xperia X10 to android 2.3 (Gingerbread). However, I get a force close message (android.process.media) whenever I try to use any thing related to media. Therefore, I am unable to take pictures, view pictures, take videos, or listen to music (this problem sometimes occurs with facebook and I would assume any other application that tries to access media).
Can someone please help me solve this problem?

When something goes awry with my phone, I usually reboot and see if that fixes the issue. I'm guessing most of your media is on an SD card, so you might want to try swapping out with another one and see if that fixes anything.
My last resort would be restoring your phone to factory settings. When you were updating your phone, something may have gone wrong which could be causing these issues. If you do decide to try restoring your phone, make sure you back up all your data (contacts, text messages, etc).

I have to agree with cass, this does sound like something went wrong in your update. Maybe try 2.2 instead, and see if that will still allow you to play the media files you're needing to access. Another thing that cass did not mention is that you could try reformatting your existing sd card too. Again, something went wrong (from the sounds of it) and this could resolve the problem. If all else fails, hit the android forums and see if other Sony users have had the same experience, and find a possible solution there. TigerDirect had 16GB cards for around $20 the other day, so it might be worth considering a different sd card too. Let us know what solves it for you please, as I'm sure other users will have this happen too.
