My MacBook Pro won't recognize scrolling from any Magic Mouse -- what's going on?

A few weeks ago, I was using my Magic Mouse at home and noticed that it could no longer detect scrolling. (See previously: gdgt.com/question/help-my-magic-mouse-no-longer-re...) Now, it turns out that my computer doesn't detect scrolling from any Magic Mouse.

I just reconnected my work Magic Mouse to my computer (been using another mouse for awhile now) and am having the same issue. What gives? Why doesn't the Magic Mouse properly work with my computer?

I finally figured out how to fix this! Turns out, it's a problem with having USB Overdrive installed. After removing USB Overdrive via its own uninstaller (it should be located in the same folder that USB Overdrive is installed in) and then rebooting my machine, my machine recognized scrolling with a Magic Mouse again. Huzzah!

The sounds weird and the only thing I can think of is that you may have changed an option in System Preferences. But still I highly doubt the issue is there. Try taking the device to Apple and see what they say.

I had an issue with the Magic Trackpad where it wouldn't pair at all after it had been paired successfully for weeks with Lion installed.

I know that's not your issue, and I know you probably tried this, but what fixed it for me was to shut down the machine entirely and boot it back up. Whenever something seems like a hardware issue (in this case, Bluetooth), I always shut the machine all the way down and bring it back up, as opposed to just doing a warm restart.
