My iPhone 3GS won't allow me to check my gmail or go on safari.

Last night my iPhone froze I had to restore the phone to new. I reentered all my info and was working great all day till evening when I went to search for something on safari and it wouldn't let me on. Then when I went to check my email account it sits with white screen for few seconds then kicks me off! So I deleted the account the added it back and then rebooted my phone still nothing! Any ideas?

Did you wipe/restore the iPhone in iTunes?

You may have more success if you wipe the data from the phone itself.

Go into Settings, then General, at the bottom there is a Reset option, Select "Reset All Settings"

Hopefully this works for you!

Try downloading the GMail app to see if that works for you.

Try clearing safari's history, cookies, and data. Settings -> Safari -> Clear Cookies and Data

If that does not work, try powering off your phone, then power it back on. Hold the top button until a red slider appears. Slide it to turn off the phone. Then hit the home or top button to turn the phone back on. This will take a while.

If this does not work, then try clearing all settings as TgD suggests above. Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. You can try other reset options if this does not work, but try the "Erase All Content and Settings" last as this option will wipe everything and you will loose all info on your phone that you do not have backed up. Be careful with this option, especially if you are not using iCloud for backup, or don't have a recent iTunes backup.

Worst case scenario is that there is something in your phone and backups that is causing a conflict, and restoring from the backups restores the problem. In this case you must backup everything you do not wish to loose, which is a very difficult task in iOS, wipe the phone, start from scratch, and restore everything manually. This includes all data, passwords, and settings. Quite the pain.
