Music playing on Kenwood stereos?

I recently got a g1, switching from an iPhone 3g. I have a Kenwood stereo in my car, with a usb port that can play songs off flash drives and the like, and it also supported iPod/iPhone playback. I figured it should work fine reading the music off my sc card of the g1, but the stereo says "NA DEVICE" when I plug it in. Is there any way around this?

Does it give you an option to mount the phone, or would playing through the phone work to get it through the speaker?

I tried mounting it, and I tried unmounting, and just nothing seems to be working.
