Mouse wheel

Does anybody else have an issue with the mouse wheel? While I like the smoothness (no "clicking"), when scrolling, the wheel is not very precise.

optical wheel inside can get misaligned and dirty. either led or detector or the slotted wheel.
Missing smoothness are from a weak signal thru the some of the slots. It should interupt the Infrared light inside across a slotted wheel. Get a philips screw driver and tweak it or clean it
