Question about
Motorola droid and yahoo mail
I followed the U-tube video on how to setup yahoo mail on droid. It works until that last step and my phone will say..unable to connect to server.. Need help please. And before I go to all this trouble.. does verizon charge for incoming emails?
the exact message I get is setup could not finish unable to open connection to server.. Hope that helps someone to help me. thanks

I used these settings on my nexus one, but it only works over the cell network, so make sure you turn wifi off while you set up your email account. It won't work over wifi because Yahoo wants us to pay for Yahoo Mail Plus, which is pretty ridiculous.

IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com , port 143
"Outgoing server settings"
SMTP server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com , port 587 , check "require sign in"

how do I know if Wifi is on or off as I am very new with this phone.

I don't think you can get yahoo mail to work until we get the Android 2.1 update. That is one of the features of the update.
