Question about

LOL Back when 512mb was a lot!

I got this as a graduation present after it had just come out! I couldn't believe my Mom and Sis knew me well enough to get me something so perfect! I used it forever and now it just sits there. I lend it out sometimes but I had lost the end cap for some time. I just found it after I moved a few months ago...

512? Man, there was a time that I would have killed for 512.

My first MP3 player was 64MB.

It's been the only device that shuffled with soul. It felt like, it always knew what I wanted to hear next.

I've never had a device that ever did that again.

My first one was 32MB...

The second one still shuffles with soul I think.. but there's so much music it feels a little more impersonal...

I'm still using mine for workouts, but recently it's largely been supplanted by one of new shuffles (with the clip and buttons).

Great piece of equipment. Battery lasts forever. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. No need to tote along a separate cable.

I've never seen the need for big memory for a shuffle. I just load mine up for the workout I'm planning to do. No way you'd ever get through 512 MB worth of music in one workout. Does anyone use this as their primary iPod anyway??

I'll always remember it fondly but I can't see a use for it yet. Used it to workout with the armband until the 2nd gen made it obsolete...
