I just purchased a Kodak Zi8 at Target this morning. I set it up to charge as the manual stated, and saw the charge light come on. I let it charge for about 3 hours, and when I checked it, the charge light was off. Unfortunately, the camera won't turn on. I went through Kodak support and they just suggested to send it in for repair. I certainly won't be doing that, since I just purchased it this morning! I plan on taking it back to Target tomorrow for a refund, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem.

This might be a dumb question but did you try holding the power for a few seconds til the camera powers on? I also have a zi8 and this kinda threw me off when I tried using it for the first time.

I ended up returning the camera. I went to another store and purchased the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 instead. It cost a little more, but so far, I really like it.

Yeah, I tried holding the button down for a short time, medium time, long time, and everywhere in between, it seems, but nothing worked. I've got it boxed up and ready to go back to the store this morning.
