Kodak Zi6 Won't Turn On At All

So I bought a Kodak Zi6 about a year ago, and I don't use it all the time, but today, I put new batteries in it, planning to use it for the first time in a while, and it won't turn on at all. I've tried plugging it in via USB and turning it on, but nothing. Apparently, I'm not the only one with this issue, too.

There's no SD card in it right now.

Your Kodak is working. Just the Screens gone off. Connect it to the TV and you'll see the screen display. Follow the Kodak online Instructions to down load the latest Zi6 Software using the SD Card. After you upgrade your Zi6 - keep the SD safe - it may go again. Mine did the same after 3 Months idle time. Fine now.

I had a similar issue. Basically, you have to go through Kodak's ridiculous support channel (just answer all the support questions, none of which will solve your question) and you finally get to a page where you can send your camera in.

Enter your serial number, date of purchase, etc, and the website will check if you are still within the warranty period (1 year I believe). Then you'll be able to print out a shipping label and receipt. It took me about 4 weeks to get my Zi6 back earlier this year.

This might seem dumb, but where is the serial number located? I'm having the SAME issue with my zi6 - use it all the time, but haven't used it since Christmas time. Went to use it - it was dead. Put newly charged batteries in it and it's still not working....going to send it in as suggested above but can't find the darn number.

I think it's on the bottom by where the tripod screw hole should be.

No, I didn't get a chance to. I didn't have the receipt or proof of original purchase.

If you still want to repair it, it costs b/w $70 - 80 w/o proof of purchase or receipt. Better than spending another $100 - 110!

My husband fixed my problem on my camera. It didn't start after I set it down for a month then it didn't start. After dealing with tech support where they tried to get me to buy a new camera my husband reset the camera by pressing the power button and the two side buttons for a few seconds then it turned on and every thing was working fine.
