90% of my time on my Android is spent either reading email in the Gmail app, texting in Google Voice, reading RSS feeds in Google Reader, listening to podcasts through Google Listen, listening to audio books from librivox.org in AudioBook Player 2, and checking Twitter in the official Twitter app. Google Navigation is awesome. Other apps I like: nook for ebooks, AK Notepad for keeping notes, Wifi Analyzer for checking open channels before setting up access points. I highly recommend Camera360 (try the Line Sketch effect). There are also good apps for ssh and vnc if you are into that.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I've installed Aknotepad, camera360, chrome to phone(won't let me sign in on Chrome...), kindle and I signed up for Google Music because why not, though most of my music was downloaded through Zune and therefore I don't own it.

I'm going to hold off on rooting it until Ice Cream Sandwich, the new features in Gingerbread just aren't worth it, particularly considering that I have no warranty.

I have to say to I absolutely love this phone, the original Droid to me is one of the only truly great looking Android phones, almost every other Android phone released in the past year(barring the G2 and Nexus phones and including the Droid 2) is just hideous to me, especially the junk collages that Verizon's been getting. I just wish this one was brand new.

One thing I do really miss from the Pre is the ease and straightforwardness of switching between apps, it takes about twice as long on Android, actually a lot of the OS just doesn't feel 100% built for mobile like WebOS does. Here's to HPalm getting back on their feet but I don't think I'll ever buy another WebOS device.

Amazon MP3 is a good way to bulk up your music collection; they have thousands of free or near-free tracks and albums, and anything obtained through their MP3 store doesn't count against your cloud storage limit.

For speed reasons I have uninstalled a lot of apps (took up to a minute to return to the home screen) and moved most of them back to the phone from the SD card. I most often use Maps and Navigation, Yelp, Evernote, Google Reader, AudioGalaxy, Pandora, Google Music, Amazon MP3, TuneIn Radio Pro, Stitcher for podcasts, Audible, Kindle, Facebook, Business Calendar, Documents 2 Go, and Google Goggles.

make sure to sign up for your google music bata invitation.
install the Amazon app store and do a search for Android here as this seems to have been a common question this last week.

also consider double twist to manage your music and video if you are going to put any on your phone. its also integrated with Amazon MP3 store and the Android market place.

* Download every app from 'Google, Inc' and try it out.
* Switching between apps can also be improved by changing the launcher app.
Look into: GO Launcher EX & QuickDesk (I have both installed simultaneously).
