Question about
It seems like I can only get MMS while on 3G but not on Wifi. I had someone on a Driod X, EVO and iPhone 3G send me MMS.
I have it set to automatically download MMS but it did not. So i clicked on download and it failed repeatedly. I thought it was because i was using the built in messaging app and they were using Handcent. When my iPhone friend sent me a photo and I couldn't get it I knew it had to be my phone. It wasn't until later I thought about taking Wifi off and trying. Sure enough the photos downloaded.
Does anyone else have the same issue or is my phone special?

The reason is wifi can not be monitored, since mms is considered a text message it must be tracked so it can count toward your monthly grand total. It sucks but if I am not mistaken this is what the telecoms want. At least for my Mytouch slide it switches on mobile data so I can download the picture but I am also running CM6, so that could be why. I could be wrong but this is how all wifi connected phones handle MMS.

pretty sure you just need 3g turned on before you can receive MMS.
as I recall, MMS kinda piggybacks off the cellular internet and can't use wifi to download a picture message.
I have an HTC Hero on TELUS in Canada and i can download MMS just fine when i have wifi turned on or off... i can't turn my 3G off (and why would i want to?) because that's all there is where i live, except for rogers 2G which i can't use anyway,
try it with 3G enabled and wifi on.
