Question about
Issues with the new firmware?
Is anyone else having issues with the latest firmware? Since I updated, nothing's showing up in my gallery; I get a 'select connection' dialog every half hour or so even if my phone's sitting there doing nothing; and sending files over Bluetooth to other phones has been sporadic at best.
Anyone experience something similar?

Did the update but nothing really going wrong. You may check the setting of email since some setting goes back to default after update if you didn't back-up and restore data before and after back-up. Also, the photo may be missing because you store your photos on the phone and not memory card and you didn't back it up.
The only problem I had after the update is that Exchange Server doesn't give anymore choice of connection to use as long as the default connection is available (which is usually 3G and not Wi-fi).

Thanks for the reply.
I figured out the 'select connection' dialog. You were right. It was an email setting, buried very deep in a menu I hadn't seen before. Still trying to figure out the gallery problem. I read about some people having a similar problem with the N96, and restoring the phone to factory settings worked for some, but not for others. I'm a little reluctant to do it myself.
It wouldn't be a problem if Nokia Photo Browser worked on my phone (like it's supposed to, according to Beta Labs), but that won't even run.
Very confused.

I've had issues with the Bluetooth on mine as well. If I remove my memory card and reset back to factory settings, the Bluetooth issues are fixed. If I restore from the backup on my memory card, I experience the same issues again. I think this has something to do with the fact that I moved this memory card over from my E51. Even without restoring from a backup, I still have issues as long as that memory card is inserted. I'm going to back up my memory card, wipe it, and restore things slowly to see what exactly it is that's causing these issues. I'd thought about waiting until the firmware update is available, but the NAM model still hasn't received it yet. :

Typing *#7370# will prompt you to restore the phone to factory settings. When it's done it'll be just like it was when you took it out of the box. No user data.
*#7780# will restore the phone settings without erasing all your user data, supposedly. I haven't tried it.
If you can't get past the startup screen, you can do the Vulcan Death Grip. When the phone is off, press Answer, 3, * and Power and hold 'em until you're prompted to reformat.
If you're really having issues that you can't resolve, back up everything you can to your memory card, wipe it, and see if those problems persist without the card in. Then slowly start adding your apps, contacts, calendar entries, messages, etc. back and see if/when the issues return.

FYI: I updated to the latest firmware yesterday (finally) and even though the E75 is supposed to have UDP, the update wiped mine clean. Restoring from my most recent backup (5 mins prior) worked beautifully, however.
Heed the NSU's advice and create a backup before you update.
