Question about

is your touch pro 2 sluggish?

my phone ranges from 80-90% memory usage making my phone sluggish, taking a while to open or switch applications. over the weekend i turned off htc sense (touch flo) and my phone dropped to 60-75% memory usage making it a lot faster. downfall is you lose facebook connectivity, but the phone runs way smoother.

A good idea is to restart it every day; I do so at night and in the morning; that helps a LOT.

yeah but we shouldn't have to... the phone would be a solid 10 if it didn't slow down :/

it's just an inherent problem with WinMo. You just gotta live with it...

Hi, actually you dont just gotta live with it, thats the beauty of windows mobile. Are you on a stock carrier rom? meaning your phone is exactly how it came out of the box? If so maybe you should give a custom rom a try. Right now my phone is sitting at 57% and it has been on for around 48 hrs. If you are new to custom roms you might want to start here
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540 If you are not new to them then maybe find a less bloated rom? I personally am on the Mightyrom right now but will probably change soon since i like keeping the newest and greatest roms.

If I were you, I'd get a ROM of XDA Developers, one that has a newer build of Sense.

I just starting using an app called MEMMAID, it cleans up all the programs running in the background, cleans the registry and will optimize you phone as well. I just crossed over to the darkside from PALM, and this app as well as Mobile shell have made the transition easier...

yes, yes mine is. It's SO SLOW. And disabling TF3D gives me back 10% of my RAM??? What kind of manufacturers make a phone with nowhere near enough RAM to operate normally with THEIR system, let alone WinMo?? So when I disable TF3D and soft reset, when it starts, there's about 49% RAM usage, and it NEVER drops below that. Seriously, my 6 year old laptop (still original specs) uses less than that, and it's (struggling to) running Windows 7.
Look HTC, if you had just put more RAM in it, a camera flash, more internal storage, clocked the processor to 744MHz as default, given us a d-pad and dedicated camera button and used a more protected screen, us TP2 users would be happy campers, rather than us feeling that this is a mockery of a phone that is a huge final insult to the hoardes of loyal Windows Mobile users out there, with HTC saying "hey guys, last WinMo phone we're going to do before jumping to WP7. Don't worry, it's going to be an absolute lemon and it won't be able to even run our own programs."
