I have a OG Transformer and the Google Docs experience is not very good. However there are other office apps that provide better experiences. I am fan of Docs to Go, and I know that others swear by Quickoffice or Polaris. The addition of the keyboard dock and its extra battery make the Transformer and Transformer Prime the best tablet somebody looking at productivity can buy.

I also have some hope that Google will update the docs app to be better.

The Transformer Prime comes with its own Polaris Office that has received many good and strong reviews however I believe that Google are working towards a better and improved app for Google Docs especially to co-inside with the release of their latest OS Ice Cream Sandwich. I would say also that the addition of the keyboard docks makes it unrivaled in typing tasks in comparison to other well known tablets.

Is it possible to use google doc in desktop mode in the browser? How is that experience? Does the 4 cores make the tablet fast enough to handle such complex cloud programs?

As I currently do not have the tablet but I am going on what I know (hopefully getting it today or Tuesday :D (and im in the UK)) I have seen it handle 4k (4 times the resolution of 1080p) better than any other tablet so I imagine that it could probably handle the cloud based version but I would suggest installing another browser such as Opera as it seems to make better use of the four cores than the stock until the tablet is updated to Ice Cream Sandwich :D

Good point about using opera, the honeycomb browser rendering has not been updated for ages.

exactly. I hope this has answered your question for you but I think Mozilla now have an android browser might be worth giving that one a shot as well.
