Question about

Is there anywhere that has demo Kindles that people can try?

I'm thinking of buying one, but I want to see what the screen is like and what it feels like in my hands before I'm going to buy it.

Kindles are supposed to be on sale at all Target stores across the United States. I'm not sure if they have some sort of display or kiosk where you can try them out though -- I don't have a Target nearby that I can easily check.

I'm glad someone else is having this issue and I almost made this post myself. Every target store I have gone into has not had them turned on at all, just a dummy model with nothing functioning.

My local libraries (Vancouver Canada) allow members to take out Kindles just like books... try your library!

I'm pretty sure Amazon will let you return a Kindle for a full refund within 30 days no questions asked. You could buy one and play with it for a couple of weeks and return it if you're not happy.

I know that a while back, Amazon was trying to get a grass-roots campaign going, where Kindle users could demo for other potential customers. I was looking into it before I ended up just buying one. I suppose it's only good if you're in a metropolitan area, though. Worth checking on the Amazon site and forums, though.
