Question about
Is there any way to get Metro Apps running on Windows 8 with a 1024x600 resolution?
After installing the developer preview of Windows 8 on my EeePC 1000h I find that Metro Apps such as the chromeless version of IE don't run. This makes very little sense to me as it seems a lower resolution screen is the perfect place for a minimal UI browser.
All of the resolution scaling hacks used in Windows 7 seem to cause bluescreens in Windows 8, meaning as of now I can't get a scaled 1024x768 resolution working. Is there any way, maybe a registry hack, to force Metro Apps to run on lower resolution screens? If not, does anyone have any ideas on forcing a scaled resolution that won't cause bluescreens?

Hey Warai,
maby this will work:
www.netbooklive.com/how-to-get-better-resolution-o...
It tried it with my 1024x600 Pixel Netbook and it works. It's not realy nice but for trying out it should be ok.
It's the old "Display1_DownScalingSupported-Hack". Some people used it already with Windows 7.

From my understanding, Microsoft said back in June that the minimum resolution to use the new Metro UI would be 1366x767. Anything less than that, you can still use Windows but the Metro UI won't work properly. That's probably why you're having problems. Hope that helps.
