Question about
Is there an easy way to record video out from an iPad 2 or iPhone 4?
I want to record some gameplay video from either my iPad 2 or iPhone 4. Is there an easy way (preferably non-jailbreak) for me to display video content from my device onto my computer and record it using something like ScreenFlow or iShowU?

I've only been able to find a jailbroken solution: www.iphonevideorecorder.com/

I believe the HDMI dongle only outputs video that is coded to go to a second screen, not mirroring. iOS 5 has screen mirroring to an apple TV but again that may not be everything. There are the Air Play Utilities (ericasadun.com/ftp/Macintosh/) That allow you to use AirPlay to your Mac which would allow you to use a screen capture utility. Again, I believe you are limited by what applications are programed to allow AirPlay out.

Well, on the Iphone, you have video out cable, so with capture card (usb ones are like 15 bucks now) you can capture lowish quality video, but the advantage is that you get exactly what is output from the video feed, no dropped packets or irregular framerates....since I dont have either device, I can not say about application that can do this well on these platforms, as apple and company does not like sneaky ways to bypass drm...(not saying that you are bypassing, but you know it could be used for things like that...; )
