Is there a way to get Snow Leopard to remember window settings for dual monitor setups?

Traveling between the office and home each day (each of which is using a separate dual monitor setup), I'm finding that when I plug my laptop into the monitor, all my windows and open applications appear on one window. I end up spending a lot of time juggling the massive array of windows and apps that I had so delicately placed in just the right, perfect positions.

Is there any way to get Snow Leopard to automagically remember window positions on specific monitors? Interestingly enough, Snow Leopard does remember my distinct wallpaper settings for each monitor. Strange!

Take a look at "Stay", a utility that remembers your window positions as you plug/unplug displays: cordlessdog.com/stay/

I've had this question for, like years. Still haven't found a good solution, but hopefully someone here will have a better way.

One thing worth checking out is Cinch (www.irradiatedsoftware.com/cinch/ ), which kind of emulates the Windows Aero Snap feature. Basically, instead of gently repositioning each window, you just drag it onto the edge of your screen and it expands to a geometrically consistent size.
