Is there a cheap / free (open-source maybe) solution for editing movies in OS X?

The last few versions of iMovie have been rather unintuitive and difficult when it comes to editing movies. Is there a cheap or free solution for editing movies on a Mac that can support multiple clips, transitions, and adding audio (music)?

Quicktime Player almost works (you can trim clips and add multiple clips), but it seems to lack in transitions and adding audio.

Another vote for kdenlive, but I have never tried running it on OS X, nor would I since I assume it would have to be run in Apple's TERRIBLE X11 implementation. I like it a lot on Linux, though. It is everything I always wanted iMovie 2 to be. iMovie progressively got worse and worse from version 3 on until morphing into the monstrosity it is now.

If I was stuck having to use OS X for video editing again, I would probably just suck it up and buy Adobe Premier or Final Cut X knowing that the money spent would possibly pay for all the stress and rage-quits I would avoid by trying to use iMovie.

Although I do like iMovie a lot, I do have some experience with Kdenlive - an open source Linux/Mac OSX video editor that I like a lot. Here is their website: kdenlive.org/

As far as I know it offers all of the features you asked for.

Edit: Roberto got Kdenlive before me. Kudos!
