Question about
Is the Sonos Play:3 just for music or can you stream your TV, Wii and/or regular Macbook (non-music) use through it?
I'm basically wondering if I can use this as a better sound system for my TV, and also use it to amplify when I'm viewing movies on my laptop (either via a file on my hard drive, or streaming from netflix / hulu).

Sadly, the Sonos Play:3 has no extra inputs on the back of the box (for things such as a 3.5" line-in jack). The only things that plug into this device are the power cable and an ethernet cable. This means that you can only play music (or podcasts) through it using a Sonos app on your desktop or mobile device.
Interestingly enough, the Sonos Play:5 (formerly S5) does have a line-in jack. So you could potentially use that as speakers for other audio sources, but you still have to manage the playback of the line-in jack through the Sonos app. It might be overly cumbersome for this sort of thing.

this was my question as well. I looked at Apple TV, but the Sonos looks like a much better option if I can stream video to my TV, and, use the Sonos for TV audio as well. Is it possible to stream video with a Sonos?
