Is the metallic frame around this device actually metal of some kind?
I haven't seen it touched on in the hardware portions of the reviews I've looked at.

It has the feel of metal, but not like the strip on the back of the phone. I am not sure exactly what it is but I would call it metal until proven otherwise. The phone itself is rock solid.

It's definitely plastic. mine got a smidge scuffed and metal wouldn't scratch THAT easy. Tho I agree.. this is a solid device... just get a case.
