Is the iPhone 4S worth the upgrade?

I have an iPhone 4 since it was released, 32G and fully unlocked by Apple working just fine...I don't have any network issue with my carrier so will it worth to move from 4 to 4S and pay those extra $$? what do you think?

I think the upgrade is worthwhile, and if you are paying for a data plan, then it makes sense to have the best phone you can to take full advantage of the data plan. You can also sell your iPhone 4 now to offset the cost of the upgrade, and you can sell your iPhone 4s in 2 years. This will maximize the resale value of both phones, as the longer you wait, the lower the resale value goes. The cost of ownership of an iPhone, is not the cost of purchase, but that cost + the data plan, and over 2 years time, the data plan is a significantly higher cost. (this is true even if you are buying an unsubsidized phone, but less substantially)

All that said, if your happy now, and you expect to be happy for the next year, you can wait until the next release cycle. Consult this page before buying any apple device: buyersguide.macrumors.com/#iPhone

Are you due for an upgrade? If not, I'd say no, not worth the upgrade to the 4S. Basically the 4S is exactly the same as the 4 with the exception of Siri. Sure, programs load faster, but I'd say stick it out the the 5.

If you do have an upgrade I say go for it, then sell the 4S when the 5 comes out.

EDIT:

Just saw that you want the unlocked version. IMHO you'd be crazy to spend nearly a $1k on smartphone that could be potentially obsolete in as little as 6 months.

If you really need the 4S and have an upgrade get the 16GB. Then sell your 4 and 4S which should cover the cost for the 5

Probably. I have a 4 and my upgrade is available in late February. I'm still torn on whether to upgrade or wait another 6-8 months, but if you have any other phone except for the iPhone 4 I think it's definitely worth it. Everyone with a 3GS should def appreciate the upgrade.

well dont waste your current phone, if its working fine and everything at least sell it or something to get some money. I can say that to be honest no, i dont think its worth it at all, the 4s looked pretty good when it was released but already theres phones coming out that in my opinion do a very nice job of drawing attention from it. I cant help but feel that apple didnt really innovate on this release, but simply made a phone with what are now considered baseline specifications, a dual core cpu with an eight megapixel camera

It does not really make sense to pay that much for the iPhone 4S considering it may be outdated in 6-9 Months. Considered that you have the iPhone 4 and the only difference is mainly Siri, faster, and the camera. It may be worth waiting for the next generation.

Unless you play games on your phone daily, I would say no. If you are willing to upgrade your phone, go get a Nokia 800, something worth spending money on.
