Question about
Is the Harmony One a good upgrade?
I have a Harmony 880 that has now been dropped enough times that it is getting to be time to be replaced. The Harmony One looks to be a good successor, but I've seen several comments that setup is difficult.
I haven't been in the Logitech setup in some time, does the Harmony One use the same type of setup that the 880 did, or have they changed it significantly?
Thanks
Matt

Setup absolutely sucks. It's horrendous, unintuitive, and you'll most likely go through it 3 or 4 times before everything is adjusted to your liking. There will be much swearing and stomping about.
On the upside, once it's setup, you never have to touch is again. I wouldn't trade this remote for anything. It's made it a pleasure to manage multiple set top boxes, DVRs, DVD players, etc. If anyone is dealing with 3 or more remote controls at home, get it. After you finally have it set up, you'll think it's worth it.
I believe that the Harmony 880 setup is similar to the Harmony One setup (at least according to Logitech's promo videos). You still have to go through this cheesy application that connects to their website.

Dave is right, set up could be better, however, once you go through the process and tweak it, I find it works great. I have a Harmony One, 880, and two 600s. The software is the same for all remotes.
I love the Harmony One but it really is a minor upgrade over the 880. I only upgraded because I got a great deal and had a secondary use for the 880.

Thanks all for the feedback, the setup was in fact the same as the 880, and thankfully everything pretty much transferred over automatically. It took no time at all, and the One is a nice upgrade.

I can't believe people are talking about how bad the setup is, if you've setup the 880 then you'll have no problems as it uses the exact same piece of software.
The One is a fantastic remote, after my 880's buttons stopped working (years out of warranty) Logitech support gave me a 50% discount on any remote I wanted and I ended up going for a One. It's extremely easy to use, my wife loves it, and as you are familiar with the 880 you'll really have no issues. The buttons in genera are also a great step up from the 880.

I had the 880 and it was close but no... The ONE though is a totally different thing. It was very straight forward and the first time through I got it working very nicely. Then after using it for a while I went back in and refined it now it is Absolutely Fabulous, 'to coin a phrase'. So I totally agree with Valinsky.
